Let's Talk About Love: The Reason. Song #1.

The Reason.

Ohh man. Yeah, this is a great song.

Lyrics:

I figured it out/
I was high and low and everything inbetween/
I was wicked and wild
and baby, you know what I mean/
till there was you, yeah, you/

Something went wrong/
I made a deal with the devil for an empty I.O.U/
been to hell and back
but an angel was looking through/
it was you, yeah, you/
It's all because of you/

You are the reason/
You are the reason I wake up everyday/
and sleep through the night/
you are the reason/
The reason/

In the middle of the night/
I'm going down cuz I adore you/
I want to floor you/

I'm giving it up/
no more running around spinning my wheel/
you came out of my dream
aod you've made it real/
I know what I feel,
it's you/
It's all because of you/

*chorus*

in the middle of the night/
I'm going down cuz I want you/
I want to touch you/
I want to floor you/
You are the reason, baby/

*chorus*

you're the one, the only reason.
Because of you, don't you know?
Whoa-oh....

Okay. A few things:

There is nothing, I repeat, nothing like blaring this song full blast in your car stereo with the windows rolled down on a sunny day. Instant mood lifter.... My friend and I do this sometimes, where we'll just blast Celine Dion in the car when we're together and sing horribly (and very off-key) at the tops of our lungs because, of course, we know all the words by heart....And this song is one of the greatest to blast. :) It's really therapeutic, actually. I have a feeling I would do this all the time, even by myself, if I had my own car. People would probably think I was crazy.... They'd probably be right.
Also, from a musician's standpoint, this melody to this song is absolutely beautiful. How it starts out very slow, and very jazzy, with the brass section.... and then at the bridge the electric guitar comes in, and the drums become much more powerful.. It's very overwhelming.

So. I'm learning things here. At least, I'm hoping to learn things.
I'd like to know that at the end of these 90 songs, I'll have learned a little bit more about passion, and emotion, and talent, and myself. But I don't really know how to go about doing it.
I guess, what this song means to me, is more than I can really know.

The beginning: "I figured it out, I was high and low and everything inbetween."
It's just so real. She's not hiding anything, not ashamed of anything, not living under a huge facade of false pretenses.
It's admirable.
I guess, I guess she must have been through a lot, you know?
"You are the reason. You are the reason I wake up everyday and sleep through the night."
Words like that don't come from light circumstances, and that's inspiring, too.
Whoever he is, he saved her from something- and it's not an obsessive thing, that she's feeling.
It's just truth. I believe people love like that all the time, and I think it's a special thing.
I also love this line, "You've made it real. I know what I feel. It's you, it's all because of you."
The fact that she's so firm, is incredible. There's not a doubt in her mind. "I know what I feel."
I wish I knew exactly what I felt more often! She's so aware of her love, of her drive to live, of what he makes her feel, that she's not afraid or unsure of anything anymore.
What a woman!

This song holds lots of memories, lots of good times.
I think it's really significant that it's the first song on the album, which is called "Let's Talk About Love."
It's a very bold, to-the-point, almost invasive subject, and this is such a powerful first song.
It really grabs your attention, and your emotion.

....I now have the desire to put this song on repeat and write a killer monologue about it, or something.
haha! Maybe this is going to be dangerous for my social life, because now all I'm gonna want to do is blog about Celine Dion and write endlessly because of inspiration from the songs. :)
Ohh boy.

Well, I think this first post went rather successfully.
Can't wait 'til next time. :)
